So Many Times
I cannot tell you how many times I've tried to un-mold soap dough too early and felt a wave of disappointment because the soap dough was sticky.
Feeling dejected, I would abandon that batch and leave it in the mold for another day (or two). Upon revisiting the seemingly failed soap dough this is what I discovered...
If you find that your soap dough is not ideal, try leaving it in the mold another day. Soap dough is created, with a properly balanced soap recipe, by controlled curing.

This post was truly worthwhile to read. I wanted to say thank you for the key points you have pointed out as they are enlightening.
We’ve never done soap dough but I think we have tried just about everything else. Yours looks like fun. It seems to be a perfect consistency. Can’t wait to try it. We will wait until we have the patience for the extra day or two curing time. Thank you for that. We would have totally un-molded too early.
